The Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Abia State, Professor Uche Ikonne says that his administration will be anchored on participatory and inclusive governance if elected as Governor come 2023.
Professor Ikonne stated this when he played host to Leaders, stakeholders and people of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, who trooped out to pay a solidarity visit to him at his Umuahia residence. According to him ” my dictum is Participatory Governance that will be all-embracing, to build strong Institutions, not strong Individuals, to empower, based on the evidence of work done and not Monkey dey work Baboon de chop.
My pledge to Ndi Isiala Ngwa South is that I will carry you along in this journey for the growth and development of our dear State” he concluded. Earlier in his speech, the leader of the delegation who is also the Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South LGA and State ALGON Chairman, Comrade Ike Anyatonwu assured Professor Uche Ikonne that the people of Isiala Ngwa South will collectively deliver their block votes for him and other PDP candidates come 2023 general elections.
He described Prof Ikonne as a man who is result oriented. Also speaking, the PDP candidate for Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Professor ACB Agbazuere, told Professor Ikonne that the people of Isiala Ngwa South are solidly behind him.
Prof. Agbazuere describing the State PDP guber candidate as a man known for human capital development also noted that if elected to represent the people of Isiala Ngwa North and South in National Assembly, he will do his best to support the State and the administration of Prof. Ikonne.
Contributing, the State Commissioner for Housing and Coordinator of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization in Isiala Ngwa South, Elder Chinagorom Nwankpa, the Acting Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Stakeholders Forum, Sir John Erendu and a former Member of the State House of Assembly that represented Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency, Barr. R.N. Nji, while expressing their satisfaction in the candidacy of Professor Uche Ikonne, lauded the primaries that produced him as the PDP Governorship flag bearer, describing it as credible and acceptable.
